The Irish downhill season comes down to one final weekend at The GAP
19/20 th September 2026 | The GAP, Glencullen Adventure Park, Dublin Mountains
One last weekend. One last race. One last chance to become the overall series
winner of 2026.
The Irish downhill mountain bike season reaches its climax this September as The
GAP MTB Maxxis Mega Lit IDMS Finale 2026 brings the final round of the 2026
Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Series to Glencullen Adventure Park on 19/20 th of
September.
After four rounds of racing at Carrick, Ballinastoe, Cullahill and Bree, the series
now comes down to one final showdown in the Dublin Mountains.
And with the series calculated from riders’ best four results from five rounds, there is
everything to play for when the start gates open at The GAP.
The Series Is Still Wide Open
The Elite series is particularly finely poised.
Callum Morris currently leads the Elite standings on 620 points, with Alex Hickey
just 43 points behind on 577. Hot on their heels is GAP sponsored rider Emmet
Callaghan, sitting third on 552 points.
With only the final round remaining, the battle for the Elite crown is set to go right
down to the wire and Callaghan will have the added advantage of fighting for the
title on home soil.
New to M50s, this year Michael Cowan has crushed his opponents with a 1000
perfect score this far.
Scott Murphy currently leads the Junior championship, while Ross McGowan
sits at the top of the Youth standings.
In Juvenile, Freddie Miloiu has put together an almost perfect series with 910
points campaign and holds a commanding series lead, with fellow GAP
sponsored rider Alex Tracey currently fourth.
In the Women’s championship, GAP Sponsored Lilian Tobin sits second, with the
final round providing an opportunity to close the gap to championship leader
Aoibhinn Maguire.
They form part of a wider GAP sponsored team that also includes Jamie Duffy,
Johnny Holden, Simone O’Kelly and Cathal O’Leary , a group spanning the
youngest racing categories right through to Elite competition.
The final round isn’t simply coming to The GAP. The riders are coming into it with
the final series on the line.
Saturday: The Mountain Bike Community Takes Over
While Sunday will decide the overalls, Saturday is about bringing the wider mountain
bike community together for a full day of racing culture, entertainment, games and
good times.
The Race Village at Grizzly’s will be at the heart of the action, with food, music,
games and activities throughout the day.
The legendary Classic Cup ran by MTB legend Dave Ward of mighty Irish Racing
will return, giving riders the chance to throw a leg over a 26-inch bike and race in a
celebration of the bikes and riding styles that helped shape downhill mountain biking.
There will also be a dedicated Wellness Area at Tigh’n Alluis, providing riders and
visitors with a place to recover, reset and recharge during the weekend.
TIGH’N ALLUIS Launches Wellness Experience Bringing Together Nature, Breathwork, Yoga and Sauna

Dublin, Ireland – September 2026 — TIGH’N ALLUIS is marking their 3 Year Anniversary at The GAP by inviting people to slow down, reconnect and recharge with a new half-day wellness experience taking place on Saturday, 19 September.
Bringing together four wellness practices, the experience is designed to offer participants an opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and focus on movement, breath, nature, recovery and rest.
🌿 Forest Bathing with Orlagh from Beneath the Canopy
Participants will be guided through a slower, grounding nature-based experience designed to encourage connection with the natural environment and a greater sense of presence and wellbeing.
🌬️ Breathwork with Marta Vera
A guided breathwork session focused on recovery, resilience and feeling energised. Participants will also have the option to take part in a cold dip.
🧘 Yoga with Charlotte from Dublin Mountain Yoga
A restorative yoga session combining movement, mobility and breathwork to help release physical tension and support the body’s recovery.
🔥 Irish Yurt Sauna Experience with Pete & Karl from TIGH’N ALLUIS
The experience concludes with a sauna session, offering participants time to relax, warm up and recover following the earlier practices.
The event reflects TIGH’N ALLUIS’s focus on creating spaces and experiences that encourage people to pause, reconnect with themselves and embrace simple, restorative practices.
With just 13 places available, the intimate experience is designed to provide a more personal and relaxed setting for participants.

And then at 6pm…
The Skills Area will come alive for the Whip Off, bringing some serious style and spectacle to Saturday evening as riders battle it out to throw the biggest, best and most entertaining whips.
But the day doesn’t end when the bikes stop.
Visitors are encouraged to stick around into the evening at the Race Village, with live
music, games, food and a DJ set providing the soundtrack to Saturday night.
It’s a chance for riders, families, supporters and the wider community to hang out,
celebrate the season and enjoy the unique atmosphere that surrounds a downhill
race weekend.
Sunday: One Final Run
Sunday is when it all comes down to this.
The final race runs of the 2026 IDMS season will see riders attack The GAP’s fast,
technical downhill terrain with the championship standings hanging in the balance.
Big features, steep sections, technical terrain and committed lines will provide the
ultimate test and when the final riders cross the finish line, the numbers will be added
up and the 2026 Series Champions will finally be known.
The weekend will culminate in the race podiums, overall series awards and prize
giving, celebrating the riders who have battled through the season to finish at the
very top.
